Über Raoul Schrotts „Erste Erde. Epos“
Abstract In the first part, this contribution discusses the literary traditions to which Raoul Schrott alludes in his voluminous Erste Erde. Epos and foregrounds the analogies and similarities between literary and scientific modes of visualizing prehistoric events. The second part uses Freud’s reflections from Moses and Monotheism to provide a tentative explanation of Schrott’s use of the term “epic” in the context of the Anthropocene.
