„Es ist unglaublich reich im Alter“

Abstract The first question in this chapter is what is meant by creativity and how it can be explored. In this context, it is made clear that creativity is expressed differently depending on the age considered, whereby trajectories of forms of expression may be accelerated or only emerge in old age. Special attention is given to creativity in old age and its relevance in the context of the structure of life issues. The results of two research topics are discussed set against the background of the KLAR study (Creative Living in Old Age), which investigated 55 old people using a “dialogical method”. In one of the topics the focus is on people who are strongly committed to engagement for others, thereby showing a high degree of creativity: how do they experience their age and their relationship to other people and public space, respectively? In the other, the focus is on realising creativity in the engagement for the younger generation and promoting creative age through intergenerational dialogue. In doing so, challenges and opportunities are also addressed that arise in the context of efforts to promote the development and realisation of the creative potentials of old age.
