Im Kindbett gestorben. Ein kanonistisches Problem im Alltag des 15. Jahrhunderts

Abstract In mid-November of the Holy Year 1450, a papal scribe entered two unusual petitions in the Penitentiary’s registers. One concerned the question of whether a child who came into the world dead might be buried in the church. The relevant canonistic theories as well as religious practices performed in many places in the fifteenth century are compared and contrasted.
