Die Abenteuer eines Kölner Kaufmanns auf Zypern (ca. 1472–1481)
Abstract Under the date of 18th June 1481, a papal scriptor entered in the Penitentiary’s supplication register an unusually comprehensive petition, addressed to Pope Sixtus IV. In it, to justify an application for a littera declaratoria, a certain Henricus de Harff, mercator Coloniensis diocesis, relates his adventurous experiences at the court of the King of Cyprus in the years 1472 to 1475, which can be seen in connection with the story of the marriage of King James II of Lusignan (1462–1473) with the Venetian Caterina Cornaro (1454–1510).
