Wie Literaturangaben mehr leisten, als Literatur anzugeben

Research bibliographies are not just a tool for finding information in times of high publication numbers – they also represent research data that can be linked to other data. In this article, we examine how bibliographies can be used as linked open data (LOD) for future research and teaching. Our aim is to show under which conditions a bibliographic database can provide new access by linking structured data, annotated information, and suitable contexts. This paper discusses these conditions using the DFG pilot project ‘Artus digital’ as an example. This project is currently creating an open knowledge base for international medieval research. The project’s merging of analogue bibliographies with a digital database will not only connect research bases of the 20th and 21st centuries but also become a long-term contribution to the digital infrastructure of Arthurian research. It will preserve older knowledge, prepare it in a future-orientated manner, continuously update it, and thereby create guidelines for the further digitalisation of bibliographic data.
