Abstract

Linking the different perspectives of the social sciences is a key challenge for social science teachers. Using a design-based research project, this article systematises the ensuing requirements for prospective teachers and develops ways of meeting them during teacher training. In particular, the focus of this study is on the subjective beliefs of student teachers about the structure of knowledge. Based on these theoretical considerations, a course has been developed that is intended to foster professional expertise regarding the integration of the different social science perspectives. Finally, the developed course is empirically analysed and central design principles are derived for future research.
