Submissions

Author Guidelines

The journal publishes articles in US English. Non-Roman scripts may be used, alongside transcription, where appropriate.

Submissions should be sent by email to jts-editors@hcts.uni-heidelberg.de as MS-Word files, coded in UTF8, and formatted according to The Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition), an abbreviated version of which can be found here. See also the Author Style Guide, which includes some important modifications of the Chicago citation style.

Journal AI Policies:

  1. AI may only be used only for the (preliminary) correction or editing of the language and format of a submission, but not for generation of substantive content (including original arguments, theoretical reflections, interpretations of evidence, and engagements with prior research).
  2. All submissions must be accompanied by a “disclosure” spelling out what AI was used in preparing the submission, and how, and confirming that authors have adhered to the requirement laid out in (1).

We ask that digital resources be submitted separately to the Word document during the uploading process. Please note that authors are responsible for obtaining copyright-clearance on all reproduced materials.
