As a commemorative publication for the long-standing Heidelberg professor of Systematic Theology (Ethics), Prof. Dr. Klaus Tanner, this volume brings together contributions from colleagues, students and close companions. The volume takes a multifaceted look at the fundamental themes of Klaus Tanner's research and teaching. Overall, the outline of a theological ethics emerges that relies specifically on the trustworthiness of reflection.

Gösta Gantner is a scientific advisor at the Schader Foundation and is currently involved in various projects at the interface of art, science and politics.

Wolfgang-Michael Klein is a research assistant at the Chair of Systematic Theology / Ethics at the Ruprecht Karls University of Heidelberg and, following his dissertation on Evangelical Biblical Hermeneutics, is working on questions of autonomy in the context of care. 

The chair holder and successor to Klaus Tanner in Heidelberg, Thorsten Moos, habilitated on the experience of illness and religion; his research includes bioethics and medical ethics as well as a practical theoretical foundation of ethics.
